Manually Import Members

Manual membership imports have been added to membership organizations. This allows you to import members and memberships, as well as record offline payments. In addition, it records each import and allows for searching an editing of imports.

How to Import Members

You can import members in the dashboard by going to Memberships >> Imports >> Manual Import >> New.

When importing new members, first select the membership level. The dates are auto-populated based on the parameters in the Membership Level selected. You can make edits to the membership start and end dates if desired. If the member paid outside of RunSignup, for example via check, you can enter their offline payment amount as well.

You will then enter the member's information. If the membership allows multiple people, you can add all members at once by clicking "add another member."

Some notes on importing:

  • Most fields are optional (only first and last name are required, every other field is optional).
  • If you are importing multiple members under one membership, you can select only 1 primary member (you can change your mind later).
  • You can import minors.

When you are done, click "Save Membership" to import them.

Manage Imports

You can also manage imports after they are completed. This can be done in a variety of ways and from a variety of reports (like the Memberships Report). One of the new reports is a list of imports that is on the Import page of the dashboard (Memberships >> Imports >> Manage Member Imports).

Clicking on an import brings you to the ability to manage that membership. You can see a summary of the members an have the ability to edit the membership (for example change the level or dates), edit the member, add a member, or delete the membership.

Editing allows you to change who the primary is, delete members, and edit the details of a member.

Claiming Accounts

When you import a member into your membership organization, the member will need to claim the account with the membership under their own RunSignup profile. We try to match information like name and email an offer to claim accounts by members logging in and going to https://runsignup.com/Account/QuickClaimAccounts. That page is also available from the profile of all RunSignup users:

Once claimed, the membership will be available under their profile.
