Some Virtual Challenges offer the ability for you, as the Participant, to transfer to a different Event. For instance, there may be a 50 Mile run challenge, and a 100 Mile run challenge that they allow you to "upgrade" to.

When you transfer Events, you will see that the form states that any activity data that has already been entered will be lost when you transfer.

Sometimes this is not an issue, for instance if the Events are a different format (like a cycling climbing challenge instead of a run distance challenge), but other times you may want to count your already recorded activities towards your new Event registration.

If you need to transfer your activity data, you can do so by downloading your activities, then simply importing them back into the activity logging form of the new Event once you have completed the transfer.

1). Download Activity Data From Your Old Event

To download the Activity Data that you already have logged for your old Event, navigate to the "Submit Virtual Results" page. You can do this by following these steps:

  • Go to your Profile

Navigate to your RunSignup profile by selecting the Profile Icon at the top right hand corner

  • Select "Submit Virtual Results"

Under your Upcoming Events > Select Submit Virtual Results next the Event that you're transferring

  • Use the "Download as CSV" link

At the bottom of the page, use the "Download as CSV" link to download the Activity Data to your computer or device.

Save the file on your computer or device. Make sure to remember where you saved it, as you will be using it again in step three to import your activity data back into your new Event.

2). Transfer your Event

Follow the instructions here to Transfer your Event

3). Importing Activity Data To Your New Event

Once you have completed transferring your Event, you can import your activities by following the steps below.

  • Go to your Profile

Navigate to your RunSignup profile by selecting the Profile Icon at the top right hand corner

  • Select "Submit Virtual Results"

Under your Upcoming Events > Select Submit Virtual Results next the Event that you're transferring

  • Use the "Import from CSV" link

At the bottom of the page, use the "Import From CSV" link to import the Activity Data to your new Event.

  • Select the CSV file that your downloaded in Step 1

  • Review Activities to be imported

Scroll up the page to review the Activities that will be imported. Depending on the Race setup, there may be additional required fields to fill in for each that were not collected in the previous Event that you were registered for.

  • Select Submit Activity

Once you have reviewed the Activities that will be imported, use the Submit Activity button at the bottom of the page to confirm and upload your Activities.

You may receive a warning if there are any missing fields - for instance in this example "Elevation Gain" is required for the new event, but was not collected in the old Event. I would need to fill those in manually for each Activity I'm importing.
