Customize Finisher’s Certificates

RunSignup Results supports automatic generation of Finisher Certificates.

We use a default certificate that automatically fills in the runner’s name, Race Name, Finish Time, Place, and the logo for the race that was uploaded. You can also have full edit capability on the Finisher Certificate:

  • Upload your own background image
  • Pick which fields you want shown
  • Re-size fields
  • Add Text
  • Pick Font and Color of any text

The finisher’s certificate will show as a link available to download in each finisher notification sent out by email, as well as on the individual results links for each participant.

There are two options for using our Finisher’s Certificate system.Either you can choose an existing certificate template, or create your own custom certificate by simply uploading any image that you like to use as the base.

Choose an Existing Certificate Image

To begin customizing your finisher certificate, head over to your Race Dashboard > RaceDay Tools > Results > Customize Finisher Certificate

First let’s use an existing template. Start by selecting the template you would like to start out with, and then we will edit the parameters to show or hide different participant information.

Once you have selected a template to you, press the pick template button to begin customizing it.

Upload New Base Certificate Image

You can also upload a custom image to work with if you do not any of the provided certificate images. To do this you’ll need to go back to the main Customize Finisher’s Certificates menu and upload the base certificate image using the upload feature at the bottom of the page. This can be a .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif file. For best results use an image that is about 775px x 600px

When you upload the file, it will bring you to the customize screen where you can add any items to the finisher’s certificate that you like.

Customize Finisher's Certificates

These finisher certificates are set up out-of-the box with the most common data included in them, but you can also customize them to your liking. You can start customizing your certificate by clicking the customize button under the template you want to customize.

Any of the boxes can be stretched and moved around the template, so you can easily customize your certificates to fit your races needs.

You can also delete any of these boxes by simply hitting the small X at the top right corner.

Double-clicking any of the text boxes brings up the Customize Component menu that lets you edit the font, and color of the font.

Clicking the Font Color text-box brings up a dialog that lets you chose what color text you would like.

You can add components to the certificate by clicking one of the buttons under the Add Component section below the editor.

When you have customized the design to your liking, be sure to save your work by clicking the Save Customizations button.

Assigning Finisher's Certificates to Events

Now when you go back to the main Finisher’s Certificate you’ll be able to chose your new design for any or all events in your race.

The main page in the Customize FInisher’s Certificates menu lists all designs that you have made for this event.  You can choose to delete an individual certificate, set it as the default for all events, or assign it to an individual event.

Once you have customized and assigned your finisher’s certificates, be sure to save your changes by clicking the Save Settings button.
