Step 1: RaceJoy Setup

Modified on 23 August

TABLE OF CONTENTS

To get started setting up the RaceJoy Chip Data integration with RaceDay Scoring, you will want to first setup and enable this feature on RaceJoy. Once the RaceJoy portion has been setup, you will then be able to map Timing Locations in RaceDay Scoring to RaceJoy locations.

The first steps will be no different to how you normally setup RaceJoy. You will want to load in your course path, generate your mile markers, and setup the timing configuration by setting the distance for each marker.

Once you've completed these steps, you will then want to check on the Timing Only column for each marker where you will be placing a timing mat and collecting reads for.

Setup for Alerts at Mile Markers

In the example below, we will be collecting reads from timing mats at the Start, Mile 6, and the Finish. By checking on the Timing Only column for those locations, reads from those timing mats will be sent from RaceDay Scoring to RaceJoy.

Setup for Alerts at Non Mile Marker Locations

If you will be placing equipment at non mile marker locations (ie. half way point for a half marathon), you will want to add additional markers on the RaceJoy course and set these additional markers in the timing configuration. In the below example, we will be collecting reads from a timing mat at the half way point. You will want to set the Spoken Location Name to verbiage that makes sense for this location. This is what will be displayed and spoken to by RaceJoy for all notifications to spectators and participants.

Once you have RaceJoy setup, you can move onto the RaceDay Scoring setup. You can view our How To guide for the RaceDay Scoring setup here
